Detailed Step-by-Step Summary: Prep Lists

Introduction to Prep Lists

  • What They're For: Prep lists save a set of products and quantities you print regularly, for example "Monday bar prep". Instead of finding each product every time, you print the whole list in one tap.
  • Prep Lists or Bulk Print? Use a prep list for routines that repeat. If what you prep changes every day, Bulk Print is usually quicker.

Step 1: Creating a Prep List in the Backoffice

  1. In the backoffice, click Prep Lists in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the blue New list button, give the list a name, for example "Monday AM Prep", and select the venue.
  3. Add the products and set how many labels to print for each.
  4. Save the list. It appears on that venue's device.

Step 2: Creating a Prep List on the Device

  1. Select Prep Lists from the main menu.
  2. Press the green New prep list button at the bottom of the page.
  3. Open the drop-down under each category and select the existing products to add, in the same way as Bulk Print.
  4. Give the list a name at the top of the screen.
  5. When you're happy, press Create list.

Step 3: Adding Items by Scanning

  • Scan a Printed Label: Press the scan button and scan the barcode on a label you've already printed.
  • Add to Prep List: Choose Add to Prep List, then select the list. The product is added to it.

Step 4: Printing a Prep List

  1. On the device, open Prep Lists from the main menu.
  2. Choose the list.
  3. Check the quantities. Change them for this session if needed; the saved list stays the same.
  4. Press Print. Every label prints in one go.
  • Expiry Dates: Each label's expiry is worked out when you print, from its storage location or custom expiry rule. Print the list when you prep, rather than the night before, so expiry dates start at the right time.
  • Tracking: Each label records the initials of the user who printed it, so your print log and expiry report stay accurate.

By setting up prep lists for your regular routines, you can print a full session's labels in seconds and keep labelling consistent across shifts.
