Detailed Step-by-Step Summary: Sale Label Creation and Printing

Introduction to Sale Labels

  • Purpose of Sale Labels: Sale labels are designed to comply with Natasha’s Law for prepackaged food sold directly to consumers. These labels must display a full ingredients list, with allergens highlighted.

Step 1: Setting Up the Device

  • User Profile Selection: Log in using a profile with permissions to add and edit products, such as a Super User or Manager. User Managers and Print Only profiles do not have these permissions.
  • Navigating to Sale Tab: Switch to the “Sale” tab where sale labels are managed.

Step 2: Creating a Category

  • Adding a New Category: If starting fresh, click the plus button to create a new category. For example, you could create a “Sauces” category.

Step 3: Creating a Product

  • Product Name and Ingredients: Enter the product name, such as “Tomato Sauce.” List ingredients, and if an allergen needs highlighting, type "**" on either side of the word.
  • Create Product: Click create product, and this will save it for future use.
Step 4: Printing the Label
  • Setting Print Options: Before printing, you can adjust the number of labels, override expiry dates, or add batch codes. You can also include additional details like the weekday prefix to the date.
  • Label Preview: Once printed, the label will display the product name, expiry date, print date and time, storage location, allergens, batch codes, and user initials.
Editing Existing Products
  • On-Device Edits: You can edit products directly on the device by pressing and holding the product name. Changes such as removing allergens are saved immediately.
  • Editing Restrictions: Be aware that products shared across multiple devices may have editing restrictions to prevent changes that could affect other users.

By following these steps, you can effectively create, customize, and print sale labels that meet your business’s specific needs. The flexibility in setting expiry dates, adding allergens, and customizing content ensures that your labels provide all necessary information accurately and efficiently.
