Check Time Validation Settings
Summary
⏰ Why It Happens: If your account has time validation switched on, labels won't print once the device's time has been changed by hand.
🔧 The Fix: Set the device back to automatic date and time in the Settings app.
⚙️ The Setting: Time validation is controlled in backoffice Settings.
Detailed Step-by-Step Summary: Time Validation
Why Labels Stop Printing
- Time Validation: When Enforce time validation when printing labels is switched on in backoffice Settings, the device checks its time is correct before printing. This protects your expiry dates, which are worked out from the time of printing.
- Manual Time Changes: If someone has changed the device's date or time by hand, labels won't print until it's set back to automatic.
Step 1: Setting Automatic Date and Time
- Press the circle at the bottom of the screen to leave the Labl.it app.
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Date & time.
- Turn on automatic date and time, so the device uses the network-provided time.
- Return to the Labl.it app and print a test label.
Step 2: If It Still Won't Print
- Check the Connection: The device needs internet access to get the correct time. See Connection problems.
- Other Causes: See the other articles under Device isn't printing labels, such as Replacing the label roll.
- Contact Us: If labels still won't print, contact support@labl.it or choose another way to get in touch here.
About the Setting
- Where It Is: A backoffice Manager can find Enforce time validation when printing labels under Settings → Permissions. See Settings On Backoffice.
By keeping your device on automatic time, you can make sure every label shows accurate print and expiry dates.
